Trips and Visitors:

At Winterton , we have a myriad of visitors to our schools to enrich our curriculum. We also go on trips outside of school to further our knowledge and learn beyond the walls of a classroom . Trips and visitors play a vital role in enriching learning in primary school by bringing the curriculum to life. Educational visits allow children to experience learning beyond the classroom, deepening their understanding through real-world contexts and hands-on exploration. Whether visiting historical sites, museums, places of worship or local community spaces, pupils are able to make meaningful connections that enhance knowledge and retention. Similarly, welcoming visitors into school — such as authors, artists, emergency services or community leaders — provides inspiration, broadens aspirations and exposes children to diverse experiences and career pathways. These opportunities spark curiosity, build cultural capital and strengthen links between school and the wider world, ensuring learning is memorable, relevant and engaging.
