PROJECT LIGHTHOUSE
at The Winterton Federation

Project Lighthouse is our Federation’s in-house enrichment provision (sited in our inclusion base) proudly supporting children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who need something a little more than the mainstream curriculum can offer. We currently have a specialist base which is commissioned and funded by the Local Authority and a support base where Project Lighthouse has been created. Our KS1 nurture provision is named ‘The Beacon’.

Like a lighthouse guiding ships safely to shore, Project Lighthouse shines brightly for our most vulnerable learners — providing care, encouragement and tailored support so every child can achieve , thrive and belong.

At the heart of Project Lighthouse, is a deep commitment to personal development. We nurture:

  • Social and emotional growth
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Positive friendships
  • Teamwork and sharing skills

Every child is supported as a whole person — academically, socially and emotionally — ensuring they feel understood, valued and capable.

Our enriching activities bring learning to life! Children take part in:

  • Sporting challenges that build teamwork and resilience
  • Musical experiences that inspire creativity and expression
  • Craft activities that encourage focus, imagination and pride

Through these joyful experiences, children develop confidence, learn to collaborate, and discover new strengths within themselves.

Project Lighthouse also provides focused academic intervention for those who need that little bit more. In a smaller, calmer environment with fewer distractions, learning can be:

  • Adapted to individual needs
  • Delivered in more sensory and engaging ways
  • Carefully scaffolded to ensure success

This personalised approach allows children to rebuild confidence in their learning and experience achievement at their own pace.

Project Lighthouse is more than a provision — it is a safe haven. A place where children feel secure, supported and celebrated.

Here, confidence is restored, friendships blossom, and young learners rediscover the joy of learning.

Project Lighthouse truly lives up to its name — lighting the way for every child to reach their full potential. 🌈
