Rainbow Rooms

The Rainbow Room is where pastoral support happens. Children can have quiet time to be mindful and reflective as well as receive support from the pastoral team. Our pastoral team consists of two Learning Mentors and a Pastoral Manager; we also have two therapy dogs, one located at each school. In addition, we have 7 Mental Health Champions across the Federation too.

Rupert and Bertie

Rupert and Bertie are our therapy dogs and are a great asset to our pastoral team. They spend time in school where ever they are needed; they enjoy being in the classrooms with the children as well as in the rainbow room in each school.

Mental Health Champions

Our Mental Health Champions strive towards making sure that mental health is a school priority. We participate in network meetings to explore new resources, to share support and good practice with other MHC’s. We converse with Primary Mental Health Workers from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and make referrals if needed. We also have close links with our North Lincolnshire Educational Psychologists.

Parents and Carers

Parents or carers should contact their child’s class teacher or a member of the pastoral team if they have any mental health concerns about their child. This will then be cascaded to a Mental Health Champion for assessment. In addition to offering support within school, we may also discuss with you additional support available from the following agencies:

CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service)

Children’s Centre

Changing Lives Through Changing Minds (Play Therapist)

Local GP

Bertie – Winterton CofE Infant School

Rupert – Winterton Junior School
